I finally got my hands on this month’s Sephora Play box. I always get this subscription so late in the month, but am happy it is here now! I have seen a few spoilers and was not overwhelmed but hopefully seeing the actual products will change my mind.
Show me the goods:
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in “KDub”
Now this is what I call a summer lip color! This is a bright almost neon magenta. It is certainly out of my comfort zone but I am excited to try it. I have heard good things about these liquid lipsticks and the Kat Von D brand as a whole so this will have a happy home in my collection. The sample size is just about half of the full size, so this will last me a good amount of time and is an amazing value. The shade is great for me because I own nothing else like it. This is what you wear when you want to make a statement!
Tarte Tinted Moisturizer in “Light”
Tinted moisturizers usually don’t rev my engine, but it is still a nice product to receive. Tinted moisturizers are ideal for summer because they have SPF in them which is crucial for high temperature days. Wearing a heavy full face of makeup during the summer can be no fun because half of the time it just melts right off! This is where this type of product comes in to save the day! They even out your complexion while still allowing the skin to breathe. This shade was a good match for me and certainly did the trick. I have been wearing it for my natural look days and have no complaints thus far!
Dr. Gross Gradual Glow Pads
I must admit I somewhat freaked out over this product, I was so excited! Mainly because I love self tanning and because I got three uses! These are saturated pads which you rub on your face and neck in circular motions to gradually create a tan. I have only done one pad so far and did not notice a huge difference. Maybe that will change after two more applications. It felt nice and cooling when applied to the skin which I enjoyed. It goes on clear and is easy as can be to use. There is no mess and no fuss! I think this is an innovative format and the easiest way to tan your face!
Briogeo Curl Charisma™ Rice Amino + Avocado Leave–In Defining Crème
I love receiving Briogeo products, I have a conditioning treatment from them that I adore. However, this product is just not something that I will use. I hardly ever wear my hair naturally and when I do it is up and out of my face. I do not need a curl creating product even though I am sure it works perfectly. This will make its way into my give away pile and hopefully find a new home. Again, love the brand just won’t use this product in particular.
Bumble and bumble Don’t Blow It
This product is a miss for me for the same reason as the previous item, I just won’t use it. I have heard many people praising this product and am sure it works great. This cream is supposed to create beautiful natural hair without the need of a blow dryer. While I do believe in not blow drying your hair constantly, I still won’t use this on my low maintenance days. If I feel so inclined to rock non styled hair it is up out of my face (whoever said diamonds were a girl’s best friend clearly hadn’t perfected the art of a high ponytail). The Bumble and Bumble brand is awesome and I have tried so many products from their line that are fantastic. Another give away item, ah well, you can’t win them all!
Overall, as I am sure you could have guessed, I am not thrilled with this month’s Sephora Play box. It seems like every month I am getting less and less excited about this subscription. I am trying hard not to lose faith but Sephora seriously needs to step their game up. Two very similar hair products? Come on Play box you can do better! What product’s did you receive this month. Are you still loving this subscription box? Let me know down below!
