My favorite beauty subscription has arrived for the month. It is no secret that I am in an intense love affair with Boxycharm. It is the best beauty box on the market in my opinion. Let’s see what I got this time around, shall we?
Show me the good stuff:
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in “Prosecco Pop”
I love Becca and all the Becca products that I have tried. I bet you would have a hard time finding somebody who doesn’t love the Becca brand. They are an amazing, high-end makeup line that has been having a major moment over the last few years. This product in particular, their highlighters, is what they are most known for. This shade of their pressed highlighter was created by famous beauty Youtuber Jaclyn Hill. Her glow is always on point, so you will be shinin’ with the best of the best. The true gold shade is a bit intense and dark for my skintone typically but when I am self tanned it looks stunning. This is a high impact highlight, so you can beam to the stars and back if you want to. I have been wearing this with a light hand (which is just as pretty) and have been adoring it. It is so butter-y soft that it won’t emphasize texture on the skin. The packaging is luxe and the formula is even better. I am going to be obsessing over this highlighter for a long time, I can already tell.
I am never going to be the person to turn down high-end skin care. DR. Brandt products are some of the best in the biz. I have their MicroDermbrasion that comes in the black bottle (also from Boxycharm) and love it. This product is a very fine exfoliate that focuses on cleaning out the pores. Everybody could use a deep clean every once in a while and this does the job perfectly. It has a pleasant mint scent and the exfoliates are set in a cream texture that feels great on the skin. I will be using this a couple of times a week and hopefully will be able to convince my boyfriend to follow suit.
Tarte Tarteist Quick Matte Paint in “Salty”
Receyiving a liquid lipstick each month has become fairly standard for beauty boxes. However, receiving a full size Tarte product is not, and I am giddy over the fact that we got this item. The shade I got named “Salty” is a very pale pinky-nude. Worn alone on me it totally cancels out my lip color and makes me look sickly. Worn with a darker lip liner though, I can absolutely make it work. The Tartiest liquid lipsticks are some of my favorites. They have a few different formulas, this one being an extremely thin texture that dries down fast. You need to make sure to scrub your lips before application to keep them looking great. All liquid lipsticks are drying on the lips but this one wears beautifully and doesn’t get as flaky as other brands I have tried. For a fun nude pout this will be my go-to product.
Jonteblu Lip Liner Pencil in “Spice”
Remember that darker lip liner I was mentioning above? Here it is! How smart is Boxycharm for including products that work in conjunction with each other? They think of everything, I swear! This is standard wood pencil in a brown shade. This would pair beautifully with a lot of everyday lip colors. It didn’t tug at my lips too much which wood pencils tend to do upon application. It lasted all day and did exactly what I needed it to, keep my lip color in place. Using it with a lighter liquid lipstick for an ombré effect has been my favorite use. It makes your lips look more plump and luscious. A clever, functional and easy product which I did not know I needed it until I received it!
Dirty Little Secrets Eyeshadow Chubby
I always think I am going to use eyeshadow sticks more than I ever really do. However, I am still happy to have gotten this product. A beautiful rose gold shade that applies quick and easy. It is a bit subtle on my complexion, so a darker skin tone would look stunning in this. This product would make a good base for powder shadows to ensure that it adheres. Alone I think it is too tacky and would crease on the eyelids almost instantly because of the creamy texture that never truly dries down. It is pretty and I may wear it a few times I am just not blown away by it.
I am constantly in amazement by how Boxycharm does it. How do they include such high end products at such an affordable price point? The total retail value of this box is $135, are you in awe too? I adore how Boxycharm includes products that all preform beautifully together for an (almost) full face look. Let me know what items you received!
