Can’t stop wearing flat shoes lately? You are not alone! I have not bumped my head, heels are still my typical choice but I have seriously fallen for flatter styles recently. Flats are everywhere, a huge trend inspired by street wear. With so many available options, you are bound to find the perfect pair that look & fit just right.
I tend to rock flat styles that feature a pointed toe. This elongates the leg line and makes me seem a bit taller (all you petite girls out there, can I get an amen?!). This look will flatter anybody and any outfit.
When not wearing said style but still wanting to steer clear of heels I go for a shoe with an athletic vibe. Sporty details add an instant dose of coolness to any outfit. While you can wear this type of shoe with anything, dresses and sneakers have been the “it girl” outfit of the moment.
Shoes are like ice cream, you have to try all the flavors! Flats will make you look fabulous and not hurt while doing so. You have a busy life so your shoes should be easy-going and stylish.
Flat shoes are my current obsession, what is yours? Peep down below for my top choices (a couple are even on sale).

One piece outfits are easy and make you look like you tried a heck of a lot harder than you actually did. Dresses are my go-to. My groggy eyes can pull on any dress in the AM and instantly look pulled together for the day. The dress du jour of the moment? Slip dresses! They are luxurious looking, comfortable as can be and the easiest transition piece for day to night ensembles.
The pajama look hasn’t let up just yet and this type of dress is the girliest take on the trend. A slip dress worn during the daytime is an excellent choice. The silky fabric feels light on the skin and allows you to flow beautifully throughout your day.
Look for longer hemlines to contrast the lingerie-esque look of this style. I paired my dress with a denim jacket for an easy combo of hard and soft. Slip dresses look perfect with low booties or sneakers for a fun juxtaposition. Strive to find design details that take your look up a notch, a tie belt at the waist will show off your lovely figure.
When worn at night, a slip dress with a moto style jacket and stilettos will up the ante every time. The same dress can appear so different depending on how you style it! A heavier jacket with lots of hardware will keep you warm and make you a knockout in a crowded bar.
This style has been my dress of choice lately. What are your thoughts on this trend? Let me know in the comment section and don’t forget to shop all my silky selections down below!

Cold weather and skirts do not typically go hand in hand but just bear with me. Skirts are the trending bottom of the moment, learning how to incorporate them into your wardrobe no matter the weather is essential. Just because temperatures have dropped doesn’t mean your style has to!
The key to any outfit is balance and this could not be more true when wearing a skirt during winter. Pairing a skirt with specific pieces that offer more coverage will make you look pulled together and let your bottom half be the stand out.
When choosing a mini skirt, style it with long sleeves and over the knee boots to keep you proportional. Tuck in a chunky knit sweater to your waistband for a fun juxtaposition.
A longer skirt that hits at or just below the knee looks fab with low booties to keep your toes nice n’ toasty, A skirt worn with a long coat or duster vest is a delightful ensemble as well. The different length in hemlines will excite the eye.
Showing a sliver of leg is just as effective as baring it all and freezing your buns off. Before you kiss your skirts goodbye until next summer keep in mind that a well-balanced outfit, no matter the pieces, will still keep you warm if done correctly.
Keeping fabrication in mind is crucial when deciding what skirt to display. Do I think you should be running around in a flouncy floral number in the middle of December? Certainly not! Look for heavier fabrics to add style and warmth to your look. A velvet, denim, or leather piece will make you shine when walking through a winter wonderland.
I currently can’t stop wearing this trend. Skirts no longer look out-of-place when worn in winter. What do you think of this look? Crazy stylish or just plain crazy? Stay cute and cozy out there my little fashionistas!

Look no further than the mule if you want to elevate your shoe game . A mule (a french word) is a backless shoe that is often closed toe. These are not the shoes you remember from back in the day, a modern take on this style is where the magic resides in this 2017 trend. Mules are current again and fiercely fashionable.
My obsession with shoes is common knowledge at this point. Whenever a new shoe trend circulates I am THRILLED. Buying footwear just may be my favorite thing to do. Shoes always fit, after all. Since mules are the must have shoe of the moment, I of course had to go score some great ones. There are a ton of styles available so you are bound to find a pair that suits your unique personality. Strive to find an interesting pattern or color palette to enhance the shoe even more.
This look has some serious staying power. They started off hot in the spring and are now staples in late fall and winter outfits. Mules are the ultimate transitional shoe. Buy now and wear all year-long! You can pick an open toe for a night out or go closed for an office appropriate ensemble. There is a mule fit for any occasion. It doesn’t hurt that this style is comfortable as well, you just slip them on and go! This look is here to save the day minus the pain.
Heels aren’t your thing? No problem, this look is just as hot in a flat. When worn this way, I recommend a pointed closed toe. This will elongate your line and keep your toes warm in cold months. You have no excuse not to try this trend out for yourself!

No you are not seeing things, velvet is back again as a HUGE fall and winter trend. We saw this craze emerge in a big way last year, and it is back and better than ever! It took me a while to jump on board with this style, but I am happy I finally did.
This look comes in every color and shape imaginable. You could rock velvet head to toe if you wanted to! I opted for a short sleeve wrap dress (who wouldn’t want to nail two trends in one?). The deeper color makes it perfect for a night out or a holiday dress. The length and flared sleeves give the heavier fabric a little more flounce and doesn’t weigh me down This dress is the perfect balance of hard and soft, I never want to take it off.
Strive to find colorful velvet pieces to keep your outfit interesting. This luxurious look reaches its full potential in cobalt blue or a mustard yellow. A bold color will allow you to stand out in a crowd. You want all eyes on you after all, am I right? You should have no problem finding your ideal velvet crush in stores right now, as if you needed another reason to go shopping.
If this trend makes you a bit nervous, start small. A pair of velvet shoes will score you more compliments than you will know what to do with. Shoes can make or break an outfit and velvet ones will certainly be a winner. You can rock this style no matter what your go-to footwear may be. Try a soft sneaker or a sky-high stiletto in this texture, either way you will look remarkable.
This comfy and chic as can be trend be will keep you on the nice(ly dressed) list this year. What are your thoughts on this look? Let me know in the comment section and make sure to check out all my top picks linked down below.
