Boxycharm March 2017

If it feels like I just posted my February Boxycharm unboxing, it is because I did! I received my March box so soon from my previous one. I am excited because last month’s box was filled with incredible items. Boxycharm is a monthly beauty subscription for $21, in which you typically receive 4-5 full size products valued over $100! It is a Great deal.

Here is what I got this time around:

Hits

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer

This is an awesome product! I am very excited to have received this primer. I am obsessed with primers and smoothing out my complexion before applying foundation. I have tried this product before and know that I love it. This is the primer that started the craze and was recently voted the most popular makeup primer of all time! It is silicone based and gives a great slip to the skin. It makes your skin feel smooth, fills in lines, reduces the appearance of pores, allows foundation to easily glide on and last longer! This is actually not the full size but still a very good amount of product! Can’t wait to start using this again!

Naked Cosmetics Eye Shadow Trio

This eyeshadow trio is gorgeous. These colorful shadows swatch so beautifully, they are buttery smooth and extremely pigmented! They are fun colors that are more bright than I am use to, but they will be perfect for spring and summer looks. I thought I had never tried anything from Naked Cosmetics, but remembered I have a pigment from them which I adore! I have been wearing the green shade in this palette a lot and keep getting complimented on it. The shadow applies beautifully, the color pops on my lids, and it lasts all day without an eye primer! The packaging of the palette is very sleek as well.

Crown Brush Fan Brush

I am always excited to see a brush in a subscription service, I think everybody is! You can never go wrong with receiving new tools and it allows me have to buy them WAY less. This brush is awesome, it is an over-sized fan brush and very soft. I will most likely use this to brush away excess powder when I bake my face or for contouring. It seems to be a bit too big for highlighting which is typically what I use a fan brush for. I am so excited to have  received this, I going to get rid of my old fan brush! I am just a little confused because Boxycharm usually gives us a brush when we have a product to go with it? Oh well!

Misses

RealHer Matte Liquid Lipstick in “I will Succeed”

At first I thought this would be a total hit because I love liquid lipsticks. I hate having to constantly re-apply my lip color throughout the day. Liquid lipsticks tend to stay put for several hours without smudging. However, that was not the case for this one. It is a beautiful shade; a rose-y nude color that I could have seen myself wearing all the time. It applied patchy on my lips, faded unevenly and crumbled off in just a few hours. Total bummer. I have never tried anything from this brand and was very excited to try something new. I will say the packaging is adorable and has uplifting mantras on it, that I did like.

AmpliLash AmpiMascara

Once again this is only a miss because I have eyelash extensions and cannot wear mascara. However if I could wear it, I would be stoked to try out a new full size mascara! It is described as a “mascara serum” which gives me the impression it would be thin and adhere to the lashes well, preventing it from flaking off. I plan on giving this to somebody who will get more use out of it, so it doesn’t go to waste in my collection.

Overall, I am still over the moon about this box. Even though, I had two misses this month, it is still my favorite subscription to receive. I do not see that fact changing any time soon. This month’s box has a retail value of $113. Amazing!
