How To: Dark Florals

I am loving this floral trend for spring and I believe you will too!

First and foremost, I know what you are thinking:

groundbreaking

This spring however it is all about showcasing the dark side of a floral print. Flowers on a dark background will take you from sweet girl to total stunner. Typically in the warmer months it is all about light and bright color schemes, but who wants to be typical?! This mix of sweet and edgy will create the perfect contrast for you spring and summer wardrobe.  Because let’s be real, sometimes it is more fun to play on the dark side.

My favorite way to nail this trend? A dark floral romper! Rompers are a total summer staple. One piece outfits are comfortable and easy when you cannot decide what to wear. Yes it can get a little awkward in the bathroom when you have to take the whole dang thing off, but it is worth the struggle I promise!

The black background is a safe bet, it is slimming and easy to pull off. The small flowers do not overwhelm my small frame, which is important to keep in mind when choosing a print. I picked a romper with bell sleeves and a scalloped hem since they are both having a huge moment right now as well.  I Love pairing it with a bright fuchsia lip color to brighten things up just a bit! Wear this style with sandals or a chunky heel for day and an open toed stiletto for night and then get ready to strut.

This trend would be a knockout in a dress as well. A short or maxi style would both look incredible, you can’t go wrong. Another one piece, no-fuss outfit choice!

Dare to go to a little darker when deciding what to wear this spring and summer.  Dark florals are guaranteed to take your style game up a notch!
