I finally got my Sephora Play box for the month of May, it always takes so long to ship to me! I saw some spoilers but am excited to see the actual products I received this month!
Show me the products:
Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Cleanser
This is a hit for me more due to the brand than the actual product because getting cleansers is not my favorite. Sunday Riley is an expensive, high-end skin care brand that everybody is OBSESSED with right now. I am very excited to try something from them, even if it is just a cleanser. Given the name I expected it to have a thick consistency, but it is actually very thin and fluid like. It did a great job at cleansing my skin at the end of the day and I enjoyed using it. Also, can we talk about the sample size? It is HUGE, one fluid ounce which is the size of a standard full size foundation. Awesome!
NUDESTIX Magnetic Matte Lip Color in “Greystone”
I love trying out new lip products, so I was excited to see this in my bag. I have tried products from Nudestix before and enjoyed them! This pencil had incredible staying power, I was very impressed. It goes on smoothly and is very pigmented in just one swipe on the lips. The color however is not the most flattering shade on me, but I will try it again in the fall when I think it could be more fitting. Again a great sample size because it is no easy feat to get through one of these pencil samples!
Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub With Sea Salt
At first I must admit I was not excited about this product, mainly because I did not know what to do with it! I soon learned this product can be used in a couple of ways, which is always nice. You can use it as a treatment for an irritated scalp (which I don’t have, but what a cool idea, right?) or you can use it as a shampoo to detox your hair! I think a lot of people forget about their scalp in their routine, but it is important to take care of it. I love that this can be used in different ways depending on the condition of your hair. I will use it as a shampoo once every other week for a special treat. A salt scrub for your head, what an innovative idea!
Grande Cosmetics GrandeLIPS Hydrating Lip Plumper
This brand has been getting quite a bit of hype lately. I have been wanting to try out another product from this brand, the GrandeLASH serum so badly! I have tried out lip plumpers before and they are not my favorite due to the fact that they can sting and burn. This one does not though, thank goodness! It smells nice and just feels like a gloss. I don’t notice a whole lot of difference in the plumpness of my lips but I have naturally full lips and don’t think I am the best candidate for these types of products. If you love plumpers but hate the pain this would be a great product for you to try out!
TrèStiQue Highlight & Perfect Multipurpose Stick
I know, I know, me not liking a highlighter? That is almost unheard of! I have received this exact product in an Ipsy bag so I knew right away that it wasn’t my favorite when I received it this month. Don’t get me wrong, it is a BEAUTIFUL light champagne shade and if you have a slightly darker skin tone than mine this would look great on you. On me however it doesn’t show up as intensely as I would like it to. The stick form isn’t my favorite either, I always feel like it rubs off the makeup underneath when I am applying it. I have loved other products from this brand but this crayon highlighter was not my favorite.
Overall, this was just a so-so month. Sephora Play has not been wow-ing me lately unfortunately, but I will stick with it because I have hope! I will say that all the products were very generous sizes and that I did enjoy!
What products did you receive this month? I would love to know!
