That time again, the time when I receive my Ipsy bag in the mail. I look forward to getting my glam bag each month. For $10 you get five beauty products delivered to your door each month, talk about a good bang for your buck! I try to not look at any spoilers each month to keep it a total surprise. Looking forward to seeing the items I received this September!
Let’s get to the products:
ColourPop Cosmetics Lippie Stix in “Glam Bag”
A full size Colourpop item? Love that! This lipstick shade is an Ipsy exclusive collaboration. This intense color is right up my alley, a bright magenta that was inspired by the mailer envelope your Ipsy bag comes in each month. I have only tried the matte liquid lipsticks from this brand so I was pleased to get the chance to try out a new product. This lipstick applies like a dream, it glides over the lips easily and has full opaque pigmentation. This product has a matte formula which lasts a long time on the lips. I wore this all day yesterday and only re-applied once after eating lunch. It can be a bit drying after a few hours which is standard for a matte lipstick but nothing that a bit of chapstick before application can’t fix. This was by far my favorite item that I received this month!
Smashbox Cosmetics PHOTO FINISH RADIANCE PRIMER
Primers are one of my favorite makeup items to use and receive in beauty subscriptions. Smashbox is famous for their line of primers and the brand was actually first to create a makeup primer for the mass market. It has been a cult favorite ever since. This variation of their standard primer is perfect for dry skinned people like me. This product gives the skin a subtle glow, which my skin desperately needs. I am not sure if this product makes my makeup last longer but it does allow it to apply smoother and gives me a lit from within glow. I plan on wearing this on no makeup days as well for a bit of moisture and radiance. I’ll take it!
Pixi by Petra Beauty Blush Duo in “Peach Honey”
Pixi by Petra has been a brand I have wanted to try out more products from for a while now. Receiving this item made me happy because I was able to do just that! This blush is such a huge sample that I would not be surprised if it was in fact a full size. The blush is a split pan off two shimmery colors, one being a light champagne and the other a peach shade. Since they are on the light side this product works best for my skin tone when the two colors are mixed together and applied as a highlighter as oppose to a blush. It gave my skin a lovely subtle glow that lasted all day! This was a total hit and I cannot wait to get more use out of it.
SKINFOOD Black Sugar Mask Wash Off
The consistency of this mask surprised me, it is thick, greasy and hard to get out of the packaging. All in all it didn’t seem worth the hassle. While it does smell good and probably exfoliates the skin well I was just not excited to receive this item. I have facial scrubs and masks that I like more and this item will serve somebody else better than it would me. Plain and simple, this is going in my giveaway box.
Beauty For Real I-LINE 24-7 Eyeliner in “Champagne Buzz”
I have gotten one of these eyeliners in the past and that one was a miss as well. The packaging is ridiculous, it feels so flimsy! You can screw the product up but not down which doesn’t work well for application. The color applies smoothly but the color pay off just isn’t there. It comes off patchy and doesn’t look good on the waterline which is the way I typically wear products like this. Total miss for me, it has to go.
Overall, I am still pleased with this month’s glam bag. The three “hit” products were so good that it made the bag a success. Ipsy always makes me happy and I am still shocked that they can manage to put in full size products at such a low price point. What did you get in your bag? Let me know down in the comment section!
