Sephora Play September 2017

Sephora Play has not been my favorite subscription service over the last few months. I am giving it a bit more time to see how it fares. For $10 a month you get five beauty samples delivered right to your door. My fingers are crossed that it turns out good this time around!

Let’s jump right to the products:

Hits:

BENEFIT COSMETICS Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel

Gimmie Brow is a cult classic among the beauty community. I was excited to receive this item because I use a dupe for it on a regular basis, love it (it’s the Essence’s “Make me Brow”) and now get to try out the original! This product has a tiny spoolie which dispenses a fiber filled gel onto the brows evenly and gives you full control. Unfortunately the shade I received was “3” which is a smidge darker than my hair color so I had to go in with a very light hand. It easily & quickly filled in my brows making it a total fool-proof product. I would love to try this out in a better color match because I don’t like to fuss too much over my brows and this product is perfect for that!

LAURA MERCIER Velour Lovers Lip Colour in “Happy”

I was pleasantly surprised by this little lipstick. First off ,the mini bullet packaging is precious and as sample sizes go will actually last me a while. The finish of this product was unexpected as well, it is matte with a subtle metallic sheen. The formula is a bit stiff in application but once on the lips it sets completely making it almost transfer resistant without drying out your lips. Matter of a fact I can barely feel it on when wearing it. An absolutely no fuss lip color? That almost never happens, especially for darker colors like this one, a perfect mix of red and fuchsia. “Happy” is a very fitting name and will be on my lips all season long!

Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in “Jet Black”

This eyeliner has SUCH good reviews that I was excited to try it out for myself. It also didn’t hurt that I just ran out of my liquid liner and needed another one (Sephora are you reading my mind?!). This product glides onto the eye smoothly with full pigmentation. The liner lasts all day without smudges or fading so the name really does fit the bill. I took a break from wearing eyeliner for a while but this product totally turned that around for me. I am most likely going to purchase this in the full size ASAP!

BELIF The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb

Another common favorite product among beauty gurus. My dry skin needs all the moisturizer it can get so this product was welcomed with open arms. The cream is rich, blends into the skin well and leaves your face feeling plump and hydrated. I have really enjoyed using this item and my skin is grateful as well! The only thing I don’t enjoy is the scent, an herbal almost medicinal fragrance but it dissipates quickly so it is not a huge issue. This product is a totally hit for my skin’s needs!

DEVACURL Melt into Moisture Matcha Butter Conditioning Mask

This brand and product are both new to me and I am always eager to try out new things! I have said it before and I’ll say it again, my hair needs all the deep conditioning it can possibly get. I can’t wait to try this hair mask out in hopes that it can give my strands a little TLC. I know that I already love the way it smells so we are off on the right foot. So far so good!

No misses from Sephora Play this month? I am shocked but oh so happy! Maybe my mind is starting to change about this subscription after all and I will end up keeping it. What did you get in your box this month? I would love to know.
