Must Have Trend: Cold Weather Skirts

Cold weather and skirts do not typically go hand in hand but just bear with me. Skirts are the trending bottom of the moment, learning how to incorporate them into your wardrobe no matter the weather is essential. Just because temperatures have dropped doesn’t mean your style has to!

The key to any outfit is balance and this could not be more true when wearing a skirt during winter. Pairing a skirt with specific pieces that offer more coverage will make you look pulled together and let your bottom half be the stand out.

When choosing a mini skirt, style it with long sleeves and over the knee boots to keep you proportional. Tuck in a chunky knit sweater to your waistband for a fun juxtaposition.

A longer skirt that hits at or just below the knee looks fab with low booties to keep your toes nice n’ toasty, A skirt worn with a long coat or duster vest is a delightful ensemble as well. The different length in hemlines will excite the eye.

Showing a sliver of leg is just as effective as baring it all and freezing your buns off. Before you kiss your skirts goodbye until next summer keep in mind that a well-balanced outfit, no matter the pieces, will still keep you warm if done correctly.

Keeping fabrication in mind is crucial when deciding what skirt to display. Do I think you should be running around in a flouncy floral number in the middle of December? Certainly not! Look for heavier fabrics to add style and warmth to your look. A velvet, denim, or leather piece will make you shine when walking through a winter wonderland.

I currently can’t stop wearing this trend. Skirts no longer look out-of-place when worn in winter. What do you think of this look? Crazy stylish or just plain crazy? Stay cute and cozy out there my little fashionistas!
